Memberships

For 2025, an independent travel advisor qualifies for an ACTA membership if they meet any of the following criteria:

• Graduated between 2021 and 2024 from an ACTA-endorsed travel and tourism college
• Completed ACTA's Travel Agent Essentials online course or Certified Travel Counsellor (CTC) Program between 2021 and 2024
• Currently working with a travel agency or host agency and have completed their entry-level training program that meets the minimum education standards for travel advisor training

ACTA reserves the right to randomly audit applications, letters from host agencies, or other documents at its sole discretion. Failure to provide proof of meeting the selected criteria, as determined by ACTA, may result in membership cancellation without refund. This policy is necessary to prevent fraud and deliver best-in-class membership programs.

Agency must provide the following:

• Provincial Registration Number
• IATA or TIDS number, if applicable

The following additional requirements are mandatory:

• Provide a copy of a provincially registered business license (where required by the province) under both the trade and business name. The business must have been operating as a travel agency for a minimum of one year.
• Errors and omissions insurance is mandatory for all new members, and the agency must provide proof of coverage at renewal.

Your company information will also be added to the supplier database to help ACTA member travel advisors connect with an ACTA member supplier. Advisors will be able to find you when they search by name, province, city or specialty.
